3. Saddle position beim City bike

3. Saddle position

The saddle can be moved on the saddle frame. The correct horizontal position provides an optimum leverage position for the legs. This prevents or reduces excessive stress on the knee joint. For this purpose the saddle must be pushed into the optimal position in relation to the pedal crank.

Setting the correct saddle position

Set the pedal crank to the horizontal position (3 o'clock position). Place the front of your foot on the pedal.

Move the saddle until the perpendicular from the kneecap runs exactly through the pedal axis. If the perpendicular falls behind the pedal axle, the saddle needs to be moved forward. If the perpendicular falls in front of the pedal, the saddle must be pushed backwards.

Please note: if you have moved the saddle more than 10 mm, adjust the saddle height again afterwards, because both settings influence each other.
